I am amazed by the women in the Bible, especially those who made a positive impact. Their character is a great inspiration to all generations—their passion for God’s work, their dedication to serving others, their leadership, their love, and much more.

One story that truly moves me is that of the woman who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years. I am not sure whether she was born with the condition or if it developed later in life, but I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for her.

Seeking medical help, visiting different health facilities near and far, selling her belongings to fund her treatment—yet, in the end, finding no cure. The stigma she likely faced from society, the rejection from family and close friends, the loss of opportunities such as work, and the emotional toll it must have taken on her mental health—even leading to possible suicidal thoughts—must have been unbearable.

I assume she was a believer, so with all that we know about prayer, she must have prayed endlessly—asking friends and family to pray with her, submitting prayer requests, and visiting every possible place of worship, yet receiving no relief.

For eleven years, her home was filled with nothing but pain and anguish. But in the twelfth year, the answer to her prayers arrived. I don’t know who encouraged her to seek out the Great Physician, but the “little faith” she had—the simple belief that if she could just touch the hem of Christ’s garment, she would be healed—is the kind of faith I long for. I am sure she had given up a thousand times, but in that one moment, her small but powerful faith showed up and made her whole.

I don’t know about you. I don’t know what your situation has been like. But have a little faith—try one more time. Maybe you have tried love, but it hasn’t worked out. Maybe your job applications never receive responses. Maybe your illness feels like an insurmountable mountain. But have a little faith. When the time is right, He will come through for you. Just hold on.
